Sales Development Representative: Public Sector

Are you a team player that enjoys telephonic engagements and loves new business development, then this is the perfect combination role for you. The role will focus on prospecting clients to ensure the CRM System is up to date with client contact information for the Public Sector within South Africa as well as driving and developing revenue via new business generation for our GRC software, trusted by over 7,000 customer organisations in 140 countries. You will be responsible for identifying sales opportunities for an experienced Business Development Executive and Pre-sales Consultant to drive towards winning.

Education & qualifications

  • Matric certificate
  • A degree would be desirable

Details of experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience dealing in the Public Sector is preferred
  • Proven track record in successfully booking sales meetings
  • Linkedin Sales Navigator and research skills would be desirable

Key deliverables

  • Generate and seek out new business through cold-calling, email prospecting and referrals.
  • Adapt conversations to reach targets with the ability to persuade prospects to provide required information
  • Accurately record information in the CRM system (Salesforce.com)
  • Deep and extensive research of prospecting information such as individual names and companies to call from various sources; Google, LinkedIn and supplied lists
  • Achieve call and database targets
  • Navigate customer organizations to identify influencers and decision makers to find new opportunities.
  • Actively increase your industry knowledge to educate and create awareness within the customer environment.
  • Utilize strategic, proven sales methodologies to ensure setting of appointments.
  • Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge and be able to hook a prospective client for a meeting using the unique benefits of the solution.

Technical knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Proven ability to prospect through companies to identify the correct individuals.
  • Proven capability of scheduling appointments and or Demo’s for senior sales execs.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail (make sure your CV displays this characteristic)
  • Confident, clear telephonic voice
  • Excellent verbal business communication skills – English
  • Be sharp and think ahead
